Program Overview
The Vigo County Family Court Project provides families with mediation, counseling, and resource connections that promote safety, stability, and communication. By reducing conflict and helping families access needed supports, VCFCP strengthens families while improving court efficiency and child outcomes.
The Vigo County Family Court Project (VCFCP) helps families navigate the challenges of court involvement with sensitivity and support. By combining Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services, individualized guidance, and community resource coordination, the program reduces conflict, promotes collaboration, and improves outcomes for children.
VCFCP makes a measurable difference by:
- Enhancing access to services: Offering mediation, parenting coordination, counseling referrals, substance monitoring, and other supports at no cost to qualifying families.
- Supporting judicial decision-making: Supplying timely, accurate updates that help judges make child-focused, informed decisions.
- Reducing court conflict: Utilizing ADR and community-based interventions that improve communication between family members, leading to fewer hearings and more lasting agreements.
- Navigating resources: Connecting families to mental health providers, supervised visitation programs, transportation resources, and other essential services.
- Promoting child-centered outcomes: Prioritizing the safety, stability, and emotional well-being of children in every case.
Together, these strategies create a holistic, problem-solving model that helps families build lasting solutions while promoting efficiency within the court system.
