Safe Kids of Vigo County has one common goal: keeping your children safe. Our dedicated staff provides support initiatives based on the needs of our community. Safe Kids of Vigo County, supported by Union Health, implements evidence-based programs such as car seat checks and distribution events, safety workshops and clinics, and community education programs that help parents and caregivers prevent childhood injuries. Safety Assistance from Safe Kids Safe Kids’ certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians are available to train parents and caregivers to select, install, and adjust car seats and booster seats. They will:
- Provide assistance in obtaining car seats for individuals who meet the program’s qualifications;
- Help parents or caregivers who already have child safety restraints to assure in the proper installation and adjustment of car seats and booster seats; and
- Advise parents and caregivers about when a child is the right size to move from a child restraint to an adult safety belt.
