Camp RAVE, CASY’s school-age summer camp, conducted in partnership with Vigo County Purdue Extension, designed to give kids a fun-filled summer with educational and recreational activities that include environmental discovery, arts, character development, literacy, health and wellness, and much more. Camp RAVE’s goal is to prevent summer learning loss and strengthen the children’s life and decision-making skills through unique, engaging activities. These include hands-on activities such as gardening and woodworking, weekly field trips, college campus visits, and participation in 4-H. Camp RAVE is open at low cost to all grade-school age children and offers a junior counselor program for middle school youth.
Who Camp RAVE is open to any self-sufficient youth who has just completed Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Junior Counselor positions are available to youth who have completed Sixth through Eighth Grade and demonstrate maturity, leadership, confidence, and skills in working with campers. Junior Counselors are partial volunteers and partial campers who assist counselors in camp-related activities. Where Camp RAVE is located at Chances And Services for Youth (Booker T. Washington Community Center, 1101 South 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47802), with summer activities that will take the children to locations throughout the community. When Camp RAVE operates in the summer (after school is out), Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.* The cost of camp is $50 a week, which includes breakfast, lunch, snack, games, crafts, guest speakers, and field trips. *A late fee WILL be charged if children are picked up after 5:30 p.m. How Information and applications are available at the links below or at the CASY. To register for camp, complete the application, found in the brochure, and the Parent Information Sheet. Then, return them with the $10 application fee to CASY by mail or in person. Camp RAVE accepts registration forms on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 50 campers per week will be accepted. Parent/Guardian will be notified about acceptance into camp.
