The CASY Child & Adult Care Food Program is a program
designed to help children enrolled in child care facilities to
receive the nutritious meals their growing bodies need while keeping
costs down for the child care provider or facility. The CASY CACFP
does this by reimbursing the child care provider or facility based
on the number of meals served to enrolled children and providing
ongoing nutrition education to child care providers. This in turn
aids the parents because not only are they assured their children
are receiving nutritious meals and snacks, their child care costs
are kept down as well.
The CASY Child & Adult Care Food Program uses Minute Menu HX
as their claiming system. With Minute Menu HX a child care provider
has the option to document claim information and enrollment on
scantron forms or online. Minute Menu HX reduces time spent on claim
documentation and claim errors and dis-allowances. See the CASY
FAQ's Page for more information on Minute Menu HX. The CASY CACFP
also offers many different options for Food Program training hours
from workshops to online trainings. See the CASY Food Program
training page for more information on training.
The CACFP is a federally funded program. It is administered at
the federal level by the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), an agency
of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Indiana State
Department of Education administers CACFP at the state
level. CASY is a Child & Adult Care Food Program Sponsor
contracted with the Indiana State Department of Education. The CASY
Child & Adult Care Food Program serves the counties in West
Central Indiana. For more information regarding the CASY Child &
Adult Care Food Program contact the Food Program Manager. |
